Most of us have a box of baking soda in our fridge or in our cupboards to keep them smelling fresh but did you know that baking soda as well as vinegar are one of the best, non-toxic, inexpensive, and versatile cleaning product you can find. Here are some problems you can solve with baking soda:
- To get bathroom floors sparkling all you need to do is mix ½ cup baking soda in a bucket of warm water, mop, and then rinse. A lot of professional London cleaners do this.
- To deodorize drains just sprinkle ½ cup baking soda down the drain while running warm water.
- To clean walls and furniture just take a damp sponge, sprinkle some baking soda on it and apply directly to walls and furniture.
- To get dishes sparkling add to your regular dish detergent 2 big tablespoons of baking soda to cut the grease and foods left on your dishes.
- To brighten clothes add a cup of baking soda to your laundry load.
- To clean tough, greasy grill stains, scrubs grills with a wire brush and a paste made of 3 parts baking soda to 1 part warm water, then rinse well.
- To refresh shoe odour, sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes to soak up sweat and odours.
- To clean stuffed animals: dust baking soda onto stuffed animals, let it sit for 15 minutes, then dust off.
- To clean pet toys – as most cleaners in London do – scrub down plastic chew toys with 4 tablespoons baking soda to 1 quart warm water.
- To clean baby toys safely just dissolve 4 tablespoons baking soda in 1 quart water and use the solution to wipe down toys with a sponge, rinse, and dry.
