Pyjama Pajama won’t produce a cotoure collection, but will shake things up when children’s pyjamas are considered. I guess we have to start somewhere. The whole crowdsourcing movement promises complete control overt the product and the same principles apply to the creation of the pyjamas. You have people to create their own designs, choose their favourites and generally influence the outcome. I consider to be a hallmark in fashion, because for one the customer has a direct influence over the production process and the range of designs.
]]>I have ordered my slip-a design and hope to report on when I receive it. The way I understand it as a product is that you lay it flat on the ground, take off your footwear there, pull the strings and you have your shoes or boots properly contained in a bag, until you need to go out again. No stains and no mud tracked. None whatsoever.
What do you think? Is it something to have in the house?
]]>Happy Earth Day, dear readers! Let’s keep our planet clean and safe, not only today, but every day of the year!
]]>Kids often make messes and if you wonder with what to clean them, the old sock can serve as a rag or a duster. In this way you will save money from buying microfibre cloths.
Surprise your child with a cute sock toy. You will need a needle, thread, yarn and several buttons or beads. Put your imagination to work and create a unique toy. If you lack inspiration, check out these great DIY tutorials.
I know that usually this is the main purpose of socks, but here I have something else in mind. Fill the sock with rice, tie it well and put it in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. After that your feet can enjoy the warmth for a long time.
Socks are usually very elastic, so if you cut one in circles you’ll have lots of hair bands to use at home. Or you can cut the tip of the sock, roll it and then use it for making the perfect hair bun.
If the skin of your feet or hands is too rough, you can soften it very easily. Before you go to bed, rub them thoroughly with cream and after that put two old cotton socks on them. You will be amazed by the great result in the morning.
Another great idea for reusing old and lonely socks is to turn them into air fresheners. Fill a sock with sprigs of dried lavender and put it in the wardrobe against moths. If you want to refresh your living room, fill the sock with cinnamon sticks and dried flowers.
A perfect way to reuse an old sock is to make a huge stuffed snake from it. This snake can be put in front of doors or windows to prevent the cold air from getting inside your home. Such a fun and creative way to insulate a room, don’t you think? If you want to make this sock snake, follow the tutorial here.

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money for expensive restaurants, you can surprise your soul mate with dinner at home. Cook his or her favourite meal and don’t forget the dessert – chocolate, sugar hearts, cupcakes, cookies. To enhance the romantic atmosphere for the special evening, you can choose from our decoration suggestions:
Flowers have the ability to capture the attention of people, no matter where you place them. You can benefit from their magic in order to create romantic atmosphere. Red roses are classic, but if you want to avoid clichés, you can select one of the other options: violet tulips, white lilies, purple hyacinths or a bouquet made of your spouse’s favourite flowers. Whichever type you choose, the room will definitely acquire a new look.
To achieve the perfect romantic atmosphere, you’ll need to choose a special scent for your home. It’s not necessary that everything on the 14th of February smells like roses, vanilla or something sweet. Choose a scent, which suits both you and your significant one. Some people prefer citrus scents, others are enchanted by the scent of sandal wood and ylang-ylang (which are also aphrodisiacs), third enjoy the smell of the mountains – pine, eucalyptus and herbs.
The vintage style can also bring a dose of romance in your home. Tablecloth, napkins or china with floral motives in combination with beautifully arranged table are enough to show your partner that you care about him/her and you try to make his/her evening special.
Not everyone has the opportunity to visit a romantic destination for Valentine’s Day. But this fact shouldn’t bother you, because you can travel at home. Recreate the atmosphere, typical for Paris and Venice, by using appropriate music, French or Italian cuisine and a themed movie, which will mentally send you to the desired location.
Your home hides a lot of places, which can host the word “love”. The easiest way is to stamp it on a pillow or blanket with red fabric paint.
You can also create a DIY heart bouquet, which will be a simple and neat decoration for any room. You need red paper or felt, from which to cut out the hearts. Then glue them to wooden sticks and put them in a small vase. Cute, isn’t it?
Another good idea is to choose a favourite sentence, write it with a beautiful font, then print it and put it in a frame. In this way the power of love will be perpetuated in your home for years.
If you take a look around the local furniture and home décor stores, you will definitely find an item, designed specially for Valentine’s Day, such as a book stopper, which spells “Love”.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all! Love and adore each other!
]]>The home library is different in every apartment or house, just like the inhabitants are different from each other. In some homes the library is formed by horizontal shelves, located one above the other, in order to host only one or two books, not a whole pile.
Other libraries consist of a huge bookshelf, separated in square compartments. The books in it can be arranged both vertically and horizontally. This type of bookshelf should be diversified with additional items, such as photo frames, pencil holders, boxes and so on.
You can also choose a vertical bookshelf, but you should know that it is for smaller collections or personal selections.
If you want to have a unique home library, you can choose more unusual and creative bookshelves. You can find some very interesting designs and you should choose the one, which will be most suitable for your home décor.
If you live in a small apartment, you can use the upper part of the walls for your home library. Install bookshelves alongside all the walls in a room and arrange the books vertically. This will save a lot of space, because the library will be above windows, doors and furniture. The only disadvantage is that you should always keep a chair or a ladder nearby, which will help you reach the books.
The right organization of the books is one more way to emphasize the style of your home décor. You can sort them by colour, genre or size. Another option is to put them in alphabetical order, but don’t forget the symmetry. If you want you can alternate vertically and horizontally positioned books or you can arrange them in piles like a pyramid.
Another good idea is to put the bigger books in both ends of the shelf and in the middle place the smaller ones.
If you want to enjoy your book heaven longer, you will need to take care of it regularly. Don’t expose the books to direct sunlight, because it will make their pages yellow with time. London flat cleaning experts advise to remove the dust off the books on a regular basis, but use only a dry cloth.
You should also have in mind that high temperature and humidity are one of the worst enemies of books, therefore maintain moderate temperature in the room, where the library is located. Also try to leave some space between the different piles of books, so the air can circulate around the shelves.
You won’t need a lot of space to create a reading corner at home. No matter what its size is, the reading corner will surely make the atmosphere cosier. This place should be near a window, because natural light is essential for good reading and healthy eyes. The easiest way to create a reading corner is to put a comfortable armchair and a small coffee table near a window. Add a soft blanket and a couple of pillows and the reading corner is ready.
You can also use the space under the stairs or an old closet for the purpose, as long as you feel cosy in it. Just make sure to provide a reliable lighting source and a comfortable place to sit.

Plants also hibernate during winter and if you water them too often, you will interrupt their natural cycle and they will think it’s time to become active again. Have in mind that garden plants may not survive the conditions inside your home, so better leave them outside. The plants that usually grow more during winter, should be watered regularly and more often than the others.
If you want to enjoy the beauty of your indoor plants longer, you should remove the dust from their leaves on a weekly basis. Dust limits the access of fresh air and sunlight, which are needed for the normal life of a plant.
Look up in a book or in the Internet which of your flowers are fond of warm baths. Rinse them with warm (not hot) water and they will express their gratitude with beautiful blossoms and healthy leaves.
It’s a good idea to spend some of the cold winter days researching what new seeds you will need for the next gardening season. You can also equip your garden with new pots in different colours and sizes, which will make your yard even more beautiful. Another suggestion is to buy ordinary pots and then decorate them according to your taste.
Winter is the best time to perform an overall cleaning of your gardening tools and get them ready for spring. Remove all the dirt and dust, that they have gathered during the year. Rinse and dry them off completely to avoid rusting. You can even apply linseed oil on them for better protection.
The experienced gardeners advise to avoid walking over the snowy lawn, because this can damage the soil. But you can still enjoy your garden during the winter – just take a chair outside and grab a blanket, a nice book or a hot cup of tea.
Although, winter is not that colourful as spring and summer, you can still find the beauty in it and admire it.

]]>Stop worrying about your tasks at work, the office cleaning, the deadlines and dedicate one hour for creating festive atmosphere at your workplace. It isn’t actually that difficult and if you combine your efforts with those of your colleagues, then in no time you will have beautiful Christmas decoration. If you wonder which will be the best style for your office, check the list below:
Instead of thinking of innovative ways to decorate your office, why don’t you trust on the traditional decoration? Place a Christmas tree in an area where it can be seen by as many employees as possible. Decorate it with traditional ornaments, coloured in red and green. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money for decorating, you and your colleagues can bring some Christmas toys from home – 2 or 3 per person and soon you will have enough for the whole office.
You can also place garlands or wrapping paper around your desk, computer monitor or photo frames. A small smiling Santa figure looking at you, will also make your working day better.
If you are sick of the classic red and green, you can always find a substitute colour or combination of colours, which suits your office and taste more. Silver and blue can add very sophisticated touch to your workplace and make it look classy. For example, you can create a curtain from tulle or silk, hang several Christmas balls in blue and add some snowflakes for the final touch. Now all you need is a glass of champagne.
Another great idea is to make your office look like the North Pole or Santa’s workshop. Gather all your colleagues, give them several paper sheets and a pair of scissors and let the cutting begin. Make snowflakes of all shapes and sizes, then glue them to the walls, desks and doors. You can also use fake snow to decorate the windows. For additional winter touch, you can cover several empty boxes with white sheet and you will have snowdrift, on which you can put deer figures, elves or gifts.
Don’t lose more time reading, because your office is waiting for its Christmas decoration. And don’t worry about how you are going to remove the fake snow. Let the London commercial cleaning companies worry about it.
