Laundry is an unavoidable task, we can’t buy new clothes, every time something gets dirty. Sometimes this process just isn’t on our side and the clothes don’t turn out right. Read this article and find out which are the most common laundry problems and how to solve them.
1.Clothes come out yellow or gray
If that never happened to you before, that must be your first time doing laundry. One way to prevent this is by increasing the detergent’s amount in the next load. You can also use a detergent booster or increase the water temperature. Another reason for the clothes to turn gray can be a dye, bled from darks to lights. In this case, you must re-think your sorting policy. There is a household product called Bluing or washing blue, that improves the textile’s appearance. If you add it to your laundry, it can correct the problem on your whites.
2.Detergent residue on clothes
A powder detergent doesn’t always dissolve properly. One reason for that can be, that your load is too full. The solution to this problem is to use liquid detergent instead, especially when running a cold-water cycle. If it’s possible, let the washer fill with water, add the detergent and then the clothes. According to cleaning experts from Stroud Green, this kind of problem can be also caused by hard water. If that’s the case, you can try applying a water-softening product the next time you do the laundry. If your clothes have hard-water residues, there is a simple way to remove them. Just soak the clothes in a solution, made from 1 cup white vinegar per 1 gallon warm water. Rinse good after and wash as usual.
The other 2 common laundry problems will be covered in the second part of the article.
