Most stains, including coffee ones, can be removed much more easily while they are still fresh. However, even if the coffee spill dries, you will still be able to remove it as long as you use proper cleaning methods.
When coffee has been spilled, blot immediately any excess liquid with paper towels or a white cloth in order to prevent the coffee from seeping deep into the fabric. Do not rub as this will make the stain worse. Next, mix together 1 teaspoon of good dish-washing detergent and a cup of lukewarm water. Dip a clean, white cloth into the mixture and blot the stain. Rinse and examine the area. If the coffee stain persists, make a solution of 1/3 cup of white vinegar and 2/3 cup of lukewarm water. Blot the solution into the stain using another clean cloth, then rinse with clean water. Wash the fabric according to the care label instructions and let it air dry.
You can use the above method to remove coffee stains from carpets as well. First, soak up the excess liquid with paper towels then apply the detergent solution by blotting at the stained area. Rinse the area and blot the stain with the vinegar solution. Rinse the carpet once again with clean water then blot dry. If the carpet is old and you are worry not to damage it while cleaning, consider using carpet cleaning services to get rid of the coffee stain.
Note: Test any stain remover you are using on a hidden area to make sure it won’t cause any damage to the fabric. For more cleaning and stain removal tips, you can visit domestic cleaners in Soho website where experts are always ready to help answer your questions.
